Medication technicians are typically the ones in line for promotions to memory care coordinator or resident services coordinator, and health services administrator, for example. Schedule:
- Assisted Living: Friday-Monday 6:00am - 2:30pm (32 hours / week)
- 18 years of age
- Prior experience as a medication technician - 2 years in a facility (not just home care)
- Ability to pass criminal background and drug test
- Love for seniors and willingness to learn
Medication Technician - job duties:
- Administers medications and treatments to residents as directed by their doctors
- Measures vital signs and weight; and performs other health services tasks
- Communicates with physicians, implementing physician orders, and reporting and documenting pertinent information
- Works closely with home health, hospice, and pharmacy services
- The Med Tech role is the shift supervisor when management staff are not present
