Coming Soon! The Springs at The Waterfront is situated along the southern facing Vancouver riverfront and will provide approximately 250 private residences. This state-of-the-art, 12-story building will offer a variety of floor plans that feature stunning views. Interior spaces are warm and inviting, featuring high-end amenities and services suitable to an urban setting, including secure underground parking. Our multi-unit luxury building offers multiple fine-dining venues with destination waterfront views, a pub, juice & coffee counter services, wine bar, outdoor eatery, room service, and catering options.     
Job Description:     
The Springs at The Waterfront seeks an experienced and creative Executive Chef with the perfect blend of culinary talent and leadership/management skills. In our effort to provide dynamic and excellent customer service, we recognize that high quality food and an unforgettable dining service is a top priority. The Executive Chef is responsible to work hand in hand with our Food and Beverage Director to:     
  • Set a superior standard for the provision of a high-quality dining experience
  • Launch company-standard menus in an efficient and timely manner 
  • Cater special events as needed
  • Ensure meal and event presentations are consistent, prompt and appetizing
  • Plan & purchase all food items necessary to prepare meals according to the current menu
  • Effectively, dynamically and professionally lead a kitchen staff by inspiring their confidence and motivating them to consistently perform their duties according to the highest standards
  • Support the dining team in a professional manner, providing an environment for employees where they consistently feel valued and respected
  • Make sure all back of house personnel are properly trained
  • Adhere to food sanitation and storage policies and procedures
  • Assure adherence to food, supply and labor budgets
  • Upholding and modeling company values - we care about doing the right thing

  • At least 5 years Executive Chef experience in fine-dining required
  • Proven track record of progressive, successful management/supervisory experience, and employee retention
  • Working knowledge of food safety & sanitation practices, workplace safety culture
  • Catering experience, a plus
  • A background in nutrition, and special diets is a plus but not required
  • Must possess strong communication and active listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing
  • Established assessment and decision-making skills with proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills. Has the ability to set priorities, organize time, demonstrate initiative and work independently
  • Management or executive level experience in food and beverage: 5 years
  • Culinary school diploma or degree preferred
Job Type: Full-time     
The Springs Living provides a competitive compensation package for the Executive Chef position, with an annual salary range of $75K-94K depending on experience. This position may be also eligible for a year end discretionary bonus.
