Job Description:
The Director of Health Services (DHS) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of care and services provided to our residents living in Assisted Living and Memory Care. They plan, coordinate, and manage the care services in accordance with policies, standards of nursing practices, and state regulations. We are seeking a warm, caring, and professional individual who cares about doing the right thing each day for the residents and staff. The DHS supervises and coaches our team of Medication Technicians and reports to the Health Services Administrator.
Job Description:
The Springs at Happy Valley is seeking a Director of Health Services/RN to support a professional Health Services care team comprised of an administrator, resident service coordinators, medication technicians, and a full staff of caregivers. In addition, we provide nights and weekends off using Care XM call center to support our RNs to enjoy work-life balance outside of working hours.
Together, our Health Services team coordinates and manages assisted living resident care services in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules and community-based care requirements in alignment with State Board of Nursing standards of practice.

Responsibilities:
- Performs all responsibilities related to RN delegation of nursing tasks
- Conducts continuing education and training for health services employees and other employees as necessary
- Assists with the initial screening of residents or delegates appropriately
- Monitors physician orders/laboratory results and assures correct implementation
- Monitors alert charting, especially to ensure appropriate employee response to issues and to determine the need for an RN assessment
- Monitors and addresses consulting pharmacy reports
- Monitors resident incident reports
- Advises health services employees concerning resident health issues
- Assesses residents as necessary, addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual issues
- Assists in the development of service plans, assuring health service issues, as well as other service issues that potentially impact upon health, are effectively addressed
- Attends service plan meetings as necessary
- Assures compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to health services
- Performs all new resident assessments
Qualifications:
- Oregon RN License
- Love for seniors and the ability to put residents first
- Organized and effective in keeping track of multiple deadlines
- Good judgment and professional maturity
- Ability to lead in an industry of constant change
- Strong computer skills
- Successful employee management experience

The Springs Living provides a competitive compensation package for the Director of Health Services position, with an annual salary starting at 105K depending on experience.
