Job Description
The Springs at Greer Gardens is looking for a cheerful, optimistic, organized, and motivated individual who loves to enrich the lives of seniors. This position is specifically responsible for planning and implementing meaningful activities for our residents, with an emphasis on The 8 Dimensions of Wellness: Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual, Social, Emotional, Vocational, and Environmental and Financial. The Life Enrichment Director is essential to the satisfaction of our residents and to our mission of helping people Live Life to its Fullest. Because our residents deserve the best, you are held to a high standard for quality and customer service. Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and execute monthly programming for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care
  • Work cooperatively with other departments to plan for large events
  • Assist with the development of the departmental budget and monitor monthly expenses 
  • Oversee ordering of supplies and equipment necessary to implement Life Enrichment programs
  • Communicate / coordinate entertainment and special activities with external vendors
  • Schedule and oversee Life Enrichment department meetings and report, as requested, on activities and events for residents
  • Inform residents of daily activities through various mechanisms including print and digital
  • Responsible for managing department disciplinary conversations 
  • Responsible for volunteer policies and program, and serve as supervisor of volunteers
  • Prepare and approve in advance monthly/quarterly planning for special events, field trips, entertainment, and community outreach/involvement programs for the approval of the Executive Director pre-implementation
  • Include, whenever possible, the resident and/or family in planning and participation in programs
  • Plan, coordinate, and assist with tasteful decoration of community routinely as well as for special events, holidays, and seasons
  • Ensure state IEP's are submitted in a timely manner 
  • Plan and implement events and activities of sufficient variety and at sufficient frequency, including but not limited to physical, intellectual, creative, recreational, social, and spiritual
  • Assures all Life Enrichment staff are consistently educated and trained, including fulfilling any federal and/or state regulations, through new employee orientation and regular education and training classes
  • Manages staffing for the Life Enrichment team, may need to cover shifts to assure adequate coverage (including weekends and holidays)
Qualifications:
  •  3-5 years experience
  • Must have 3-5 years demonstrated experience leading teams
  • Experience in Wellness and Activities programming in a senior housing community including designing and facilitating all aspects of a comprehensive program a plus
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check
  • Experience in assisted living, memory care and independent living
