We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our Maintenance Director in keeping our beautiful community in top shape, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our residents - assuring proper, consistent maintenance of our community including building interior and exterior, grounds, walkways, driveways, and parking lot.
Job Duties Include:
 
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on things like plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances.
  • Get surfaces ready for painting and use brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to apply paint and other finishes.
  • Get empty apartments ready for new residents by fixing things and making sure everything is clean and in good condition.
  • Fix or replace things like doorknobs, locks, and hinges to keep doors working properly.
  • Use various tools and equipment, like hand tools and power tools, to do your job.
  • Follow instructions and directions, whether spoken or written.
  • Solve problems by thinking things through and figuring out what needs to be fixed.
  • Be polite and helpful when answering questions or handling complaints from residents in a timely manner.
  • Keep the trash area clean by organizing, deodorizing, and power washing when needed.
  • Help maintain the outdoor areas by picking up trash, blowing off sidewalks, cleaning, and painting as needed.
  • Respond to property emergencies like floods, fires, or power outages, even if they happen outside of normal work hours.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in maintenance, construction, or similar role·
  • 2-3 years of Maintenance Skills in a residential or commercial setting.
  • Experience with any of the following: electrical, plumbing, or HVAC (certification not required for this role)
  • Ability to maintain and perform basic repairs on appliances including refrigerators, washers and dryers.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and oral drug screen.

  • Have good customer service and communication skills to work well with residents, their families, visitors, contractors, and co-workers.
  • Always act and dress professionally, showing respect to residents and co-workers.
  • Keep private information about residents and staff confidential at all times.
  • Show up to work on time and finishes all scheduled shifts.
  • Solve everyday problems.
  • Organize tasks and decide which ones to do first.

 

Typical physical and environmental considerations:
  • Maintain ability to lift 75 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the work day, and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist, and reach
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/handle items
