Job Title: Maintenance Technician– Full Time Temporary

Reports To: Director of Plant Operations

Location: 4138 Market St.  NE, Salem, Oregon

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday

Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician helps keep our community safe, clean, and running smoothly. This includes maintaining the building, grounds, and equipment, and supporting the maintenance team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Keep the exterior areas (lawn, flower beds, walkways, parking lot) clean and maintained.

Assist with repairs and upkeep inside the building, including resident rooms, common areas, HVAC, pool, gym equipment, and kitchens.

Safely store and handle all maintenance tools and supplies.

Work closely with the Director of Plant Operations to address issues and get guidance when needed.

Safely drive community vehicles when required.

Maintain excellent attendance, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Follow safety rules at all times.

Provide clear, accurate information and work well with others.

Maintain a professional appearance and respect residents’ privacy.

Be adaptable, prompt, and polite when helping residents, staff, and families.

Attend any required training or meetings.

Do other tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous maintenance experience preferred (construction, apartment maintenance, or related).

Experience in carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, or similar work is a plus.

Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Ability to read and understand plans, diagrams, and written instructions.

Able to lift to 75 lbs and stand or walk for long periods.

Basic computer skills (email, record keeping).
